A few months ago my Pc had an issue causing my graphics card to completely fry, so after it eventually got fixed it worked for a while but then started to get many crashes and I remember when my graphics card fried it replaced the name of my graphics card in the device manager from amd radeon 6670 hd (at least I think) to a AMD Radeon R7 200 series however once repairing it I went to see what graphics card I had replaced by my friend and by my surprise it was still the AMD Radeon R7 200 series from before, could this be the cause of crashes as there is graphics card listed in the device manager which isn't actually there and if there is a solution please inform me, some of the crashes have mention messed up configuration but I wasn't fast enough to get the crash name and/or save it somewhere as at the beginning it didn't seem to much of a problem as it would start back up soon after and happen later.

Solution
Step 1: Desktop Graphics, Step 2: Radeon HD, Step3: 6xxx series, Step 4 what ever OS you have installed hopefully Windows 7 or 8 64-bit lol It should probably be driver number 14.4. This is if you have the Radeon hd 6670, but should work for all newer and current gpus
Well the AMD released the R5/R7/R9 cards it rebranded older cards, such as my 7970 is a R9 280x and in certain applications it shows as a 7970/280x. It is most likely the driver recognizing the gpu chip and it is the same one used in the newer card.
So u think u had a 6670, and it fried and once repaired it showed up as a r7 200 series? and who repaired it? and what is it right now? look at the card there should be a model number on it or some kind of branding. If it works as before it should be fine unless its crashing

The problem is it was a friend of mine who repaired it and all I cared about at the moment is if it was fixed so I didn't get the name of it and I am less experienced with computers than most people so the only thing I know is it might be crashing because it doesn't recognize the graphics card, could this be correct?

I know I sound like a rookie to this but how to I re install it? I can't see what the Graphics card is called until tomorrow when I can open my case and stuff

Easiest way is to go into Windows control panel and find the uninstall and remove programs and hit amd Catalyst Install Manager and when it loads hit un install and then restart the computer.

Before you do that go to AMDs website and find the download drivers section for graphics cards and whenb it prompts to enter your gpu model it should be a Radeon HD 6000 series and then your OS version, then download that, then to the uninstall as above, reset the computer and then install the file/driver you just downloaded.
