Hello,
I am looking to upgrade my computer since I would like to live stream some of the games that I play. I also want to start to does some video and photo editing. So I am wondering if a lga 2011 setup with a six core processor would be what I would need so that I can do all the things that I would like to do with my computer? Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

So you would recommend that setup for that type of thing? Also what if I started out with the 4820k? Would that be a waste of money?

There are diminishing returns going above the i7-4790K, but if you need it you need it, especially if you make your living on editing, time is money. Better to overkill.

So I looked at the CPU Boss website and they were saying that benchmarks have shown that the 4790k will out perform the 4930k. Is there truth in that?

CPU Boss is about as useful as tits on a bull.

For rendering and editing there is no doubt that the 4930K will be faster. In gaming it will also be faster but with much more diminishing returns going from 4C8T to 6C12T.

So basically the 4930K would probably get less frames than the 4790k in a gaming application?

Not if you bumped up the multiplier to match frequency. The 4930K is clocked lower to save on energy but it will clock just as high as its little brother provided you can keep it cool.

Okay. Well I think that I may start to save now for the 4930k setup. Thank you for your help. I really appreciate it!
