I need advice on a casual gaming laptop I'm building, i was wondering if this was a good setup and if that parts would be compatible, thank you

This isn't a gaming laptop..... Anyways, let's get to the point. This looks good but I recommend upgrading to the 760K instead if you have the money. You can save some money by decreasing the speed of the RAM to 1600MHz (I doubt you'll ever need more than 8GB unless you do video editing or similar things). Also I recommend a Radeon R9 270X instead of the 7870 GHz edition. It's more updated and shows better performance. Not to mention it's also cheaper.

Update: The parts are compatible. Also, I'd recommend getting a terabyte instead of 500GB. It's about $5 more for the WD model and $1-$2 more for the Seagate model. (sometimes you can even find them cheaper than your 500GB model!)
