I went out to Best Buy today to buy a WD Blue 1tb hard drive, and walked away with the shipping order for a 250gb SSD and a 2TB WD Green HDD. The costs were about 130$ and 94$, respectively. I plan on using these in a new gaming pc Im in the act of building, and I've never used multiple storage drives before- and I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to configure it?

Additionally, I know the WD Green is only 5400rpm, rather than 7200rpm like the Blue would have been. Considering I have the SSD for the OS and games, should I consider returning the 2tb Green (5400rpm) for a 1tb Blue (7200rpm)?

Thank you all in advance!

I have a 2tb green for as a storage drive for steam and all my games and downloads. The loading speeds are slightly slower that's about it. Frame rate wise, it shouldn't affect it. I do get some stutters once in a while though, whenever the activity on that drive picks up.

I think it's a pretty good drive as a storage.

As for your question:
Nothing really to configure, just make sure to have the proper format on the drive and when you're installing stuff, just make sure to send the downloads/installations to the storage drive instead of the SSD.

The particular SSD I bought was for a laptop, so it did not come with a mounting bracket. Will this be a problem for my desktop build?
