I currently receive wireless internet from Clear (formerly Clearwire), to which I am connected directly via ethernet. The tower I'm connected to is nearly a block away, and receiving a signal is never an issue. I average a ping of around 150ms or so, but tends to spike up drastically and frequently, causing input delay when playing games online.
I've tried registry fixes, tunneling services, etc, without any improvement, and my ISP's support seems to be about as clueless as I am.
I've heard that what I'm seeing might simply be a limitation of the wireless service. This leads me to wonder if "upgrading" to cable internet would provide a faster and (more importantly) stable connection. Does this hold water? Or would I likely see exactly the same results?
Thanks.
