So I heard many people say there is no difference with 720p, 900p and 1080p. Game reviewers show a screenshot of a game showing no difference between the three resolutions.
So, I tried it myself. I have a 20 inch monitor - max resolution is 1600x900
I set Battlefield 4 to 1280x720, It was not clear compared to 900p or 1600x900. There is a difference! Why would some people say there's no difference between all three resolutions?

Resolution is the one thing in the entire technology industry that has been skewed for marketing the most. There is a difference on your monitor because the image is being stretched out. On a monitor with 720p as its native resolution then it would look just the same as it would on a 1600x900 monitor. While higher resolution does allow us to add more details to objects in the distance or smaller and finer objects, there really is not much point since a person can only process so much information at one time.

tl;dr who cares about resolution as long as it plays well and looks decent

Although higher resolutions are useful for large format displays such as those mega TVs you'd see in times square and places like that. Other than that I don't see any reason for any conventional consumer technology to require resolutions of over 1440p.

Let suppose you have 2 hair combs, 1 with gap sticks the other with closer sticks, which one will comb you hairs well no doubt comb with closer sticks same with resolutions, the higher resolutions the more clear image you'll get.
