I have a 2010 mac book pro and I am trying to connect it to my samsung smart tv. First qustion is if these two models are even compatible. I have a USB cord that can connect to both the tv and my computer. Will this work? If can somebody please give me the steps on how to do it? I am having trouble figuring this out. Thanks

I doubt that you can make that connection over a USB cable, AFAIK Samsung only supports USB sticks or drives with specific types of media files.
You can attach computers to TVs over a video cable though to play files using the TV as a monitor.
