Crossfiring two R9 280x

Hello guys. I've just ordered MSI Z97M Gaming motherboard as it supports crossfiring at a higher bandwidtth of 16x and 16x PCIE bus lanes. Will two of these cards needing this bandwidth or will both of these two cards just run at 8x and 8x?

The actual performance boost from a 8x PCIe lane to a 16x PCIe lane is almost nonexistent unless you have $1000 GPUs on them. Even then though it is very small. Don't worry about the PCIe speeds they aren't going to make any noticable difference for you
