I was just wondering I am currently building a new gaming computer and my processor is the intel i5 4670 6mb 3.4GHz Haswell. I am very uneasy about applying the thermal paste to my custom heatsink and was wondering if the stock will be good enough.

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/thermal-paste-heat-sink-heat-spreader,3600.html it isnt such a deal really! if you already have an aftermarket cpu cooler better use it! most probably has pre applyed thermal paste! however if you choose not to , stock cooler will suffice!
It should be enough, but you cant overclock on it.
I would still get an aftermarket heat sink, like a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO.
About applying Thermal Paste, you just need to put a pea-sized drop in the middle if the CPU,put the heat sink on top, screw everytihng in place and you're done.
If I did that on my first try,you have nothing to worry about it.:)
