Hello

I have just bought my new computer with i7 4790K processor in it and now I have some overheating problem with the processor using stock cooler. When ever I run BF3 temeratures on my processor rise to around 100°C according to HW monitor. But as soon as I leave the temepratures imidiately drop to 60°C and in next few minutes reduce to around 45-50°C. Note that my motherbord runs at around 30-40°C while playing and my R9 280 runs at around 60°C. I'm using stock cooler atm. What should I do to reduce the processor temepratures or is this just some sort of HW Monitor bug.

Thanks for the help

arctic silver 5 is great and pretty easy to find, but you only really need to buy it if you have to re seat the heatsink, the paste that comes with the cooler is actually really good. :)
Probably should invest in an aftermarket cooler. Especially since the other thing to do would be to reapply thermal paste that doesn't come with the intel stock cooler.

Get a Cooler Master hyper 212 evo. It's not too expensive and it's still very effective.

It's a great cooler! What is your case? I'll make sure it supports it.
The NZXT Kraken X61 is even better though, for the same price (or cheaper, I know it is where I live).
Corsair products are good, but normally always a little over-priced. :)

It is a great cooler, BUT the H440 has a lot of trouble fitting 280mm coolers. I know this because I have the case.
Can you take a photo of the top of the case where the CPU power input is? Most PSUs have too thick of a cable there, causing the rad not to fit.

Galus, were you able to solve your overheating problem? I'm having the same problems with the i7 4790k too.
