Ok so first of all, Im willing to drop up to 4K on a build that can last me years. After months of researching this is what I have come up with. I want to see what people opinions are.

CPU: Intel 4790K
MOBO: Asus Max VII Formula
GPU: 2x Asus GTX 780TI Maxtrix
RAM: 4 X Kingston 2400mhz 8GB
CASE: Corsair 760t white case
Power: Corsair Atx 1200
Storage: 1 Samsung SSD 64GB for boot
1 Samsung SSD 500GB for steam
1 Seagate 4TB for other stuff
Cooling: 1 corsiar H105, 3 x AF140
Drive: Asus Blu Player
Monitor: 2x BenQ 2720z

All comes out to about 4k.

What are your thoughts?

It doesn't need that much cooling, it's just that the features you pay for get you ln2 features that won't be helpful to you, therefore spending more money on features that you will never use is a waste of money, if you want to go 4k in ghe future, wait for the 6gb 780 ti to come out or the 800 series

Yeah I was reading that those 800s series were coming out soon.. I won't be buying it all for about 2-3 months after I get home. So there will be room for improvement.

And yes gamer i do a lot of music editing as well but it will be mostly for gaming.

I don't believe the Maximus will be needed. A Z97-A will do fine or a Maximus Ramger if you like Maximus. Yes it is great for overclocking. Get a H100i instead. :)

Thanks for you answers. I ll be home from Afghanistan in December and that's when I'm building my new PC. I've been doing a lot of research lately and it seems it would be better to wait until the x99 boards are out... Along with the new Intel CPUs.
