Hi all

I recently built my first rig and got into gaming. I now decided to OC and share my results with the wider community for comment and share my experience.

I have:
CM Enforcer mid tower case
Z87 G45 mobo
i5 4670K cpu
750W Seasonic 80+ bronze modular psu
CM V8 GTS CPU cooler
GTX 780 VGA card
Xonar D2X sound card
2x4 gig corsair vengeance LP

My Bios settings are currently:
multiplier = 42X
Ring multiplier = 41X
Vcore = 1.06V (adaptive mode)
Vring = 1.035 (adaptive mode)

Results:
Idle temp = 30 degC
max temp = 84 deg
Vcore (in CPUZ) = 1.16 V

Stress testing:
Using Prime95 blend, CPUZ and real temps. I stress tested for 2 x1.5 hours each and also gamed on BF3 for about 2X3 hours each and every time it was stable. I also tried AIDA64 stress test and the temperatures never got above 70degC.

Im my noobish opinion this is stable but I do think that I can get a better cooling solution since I bought the V8 GTS for its looks. I also feel the CPU has more potential but will definitely require better cooling.

If I install a second 200mm (or 2x 120mm) fan for extraction on top will this improve air flow. In the near future I am looking to install a second GTX 780 as Im looking forward to the ROG swift.

Appreciate the feedback from the gurus

Have a great Sunday
Chrisn

Yes I know, but am I stable considering the tests. Also would appreciate feedback on how to improve clock speed while keeping cool.

I have done a fair bit of research and watched YT tutorials, but at some point I have to get down to doing it and sharing results so that people can comment.

Thanks for the link, looks useful, will give it a read tonite.
