My PC crashed earlier today and I have since been trying to troubleshoot the cause of this error.

I've confirmed it's not faulty memory and before I go and purchase a cheap CPU and Graphics Card to test whether it is them, are there any troubleshooting steps I can take to identify the cause? Or perhaps a means of fixing it?

Just to confirm, I haven't update any drivers in the past few weeks or so.

Will it help with finding the fault? Since I can't load up Speccy I don't know all the hardware by sight alone.

ASUS Gigabyte Motherboard
AMD X4 965 @3.4
8GB of Kingston something RAM, I've checked this isn't the fault though.
6850 XFX ATI GPU
600W PSU of some sort.

Sorry I can't be more specific.

What do you mean by bios graphical errors?

I have some tips:

If your motherboard has integrated graphics, uninstall and remove your graphics card and see if the error appears

If you don't have that option another is maybe testing the graphics card in another pc if possible.

If its bluescreen of death your getting try and note down the error code. There is a way to find a dump file from your crash I suggest you google that. You could also use event viewer and check if anything looks out of place (Look for the time your crash occurred). For instance my wifi adapter was causing my pc to freeze now and again and in event viewer it showed that there were errors connected to it at the time of the freezing.
Another thing, go into device manager and find your graphics card and see if it has any warning symbols and go into properties on it by right clicking. (should be under display adapters).

You may want to also uninstall your amd drivers and re-install them again; if you've previously installed drivers and forgot (yes I've been there) then installed more updated drivers there may be a conflict. I also don't recommend 14.4, I've just posted a thread on that, and its caused nothing but problems for me, I use 13.9 now.

Large swathes of colour across the text, with random lines of numbers between the usual BIOS info. I tried searching for similar images but I can't find anything similar. I'll try and upload some photos from my phone.

Unfortunately my mobo doesn't, but I've got someone bringing over a spare later so I can confirm whether it is the GPU or not.

There was no BSOD ,the screen just went white and now I can't get past the corrupted BIOS, so I can't do any of the latter things you suggested.
