Hi Guys,
I have an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+ 2.30 GHz. Its a Dell Dimension. It is not used for anything serious and still works well after 7 years. I would like to change the case though but that will mean changing the motherboard to an ATX or mATX. Can anyone tell me which socket the CPU is and advise on a compatible motherboard?

Thanks

What form factor is your current motherboard?

It's pretty rare for a computer that old to not be uATX (micro-ATX) or ATX.

While it's possible that it's a SLIM case, the motherboard itself is probably fully compatible with a typical ATX case.

Also, not sure why you're changing the case of you picked one out but the NZXT 220 is a great case for about $50 (see it or others through pcpartpicker). It has a 12cm and 14cm fan (move the 12cm fan to front as intake).
