I'm looking for a mechanical gaming keyboard, which is as silent as possible, or at least not louder than a standard laptop keyboard. It should also be of "standard" size and have a palmrest.

I own a Razer DeathAdder 2014 mouse and was considering the Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Stealth 2014 to match it but I am not convinced that keyboard is worth its price.

Do you have any tips for me? Thanks!

get a red switch (whatever you do don't get the blue)
when it comes to brands, my personal favorite is the ducky (have not tried filco though)
but i also like corsair, and maybe coolermaster (i was considering them too when i was looking to buy)

ducky doesn't have that "gaming" look/design though, it's plain looking (aside from the lights) for most of its models that i know, it's a bit pricey too but the build is very nice

my first one was a razer, but they do have a somewhat reputation when it comes to reliability/durability.

Hmm... seems the majority agrees with you that the ducky keyboards provide great quality. How does typing on it feel? Does the lack of palmrest bother you or are you used to it?

I think I'll get a Ducky shine if I can get one because they seem a bit of a boutique product for my part of the world... If I can't, I'll most likely get the Corsair K70

corsair's are great too, as i've said i wanted one too. but i wanted a shorter one (ten-key-less is the term i believe)
i don't use palm rest, it's user pref i guess.
if possible, visit a store (as opposed to online), KB's are personal, you should really really go and test them out. most have cutouts in their boxes or the boxes are open. try filco also, they also have good feedbacks (pun intended)

good luck, and after this you won't go back to non-mech lol
