Hi i bought this case and am confused due to the problem of what way to put the PSU in. You see normall i would put it where the bottom (intake) fan facing down to get cool air, and this would be good especially as i was told my fan had open vents on the bottom suchs on this site:

http://techgage.com/article/zalman_z9_plus_mid-tower_ch... (look at the bottom of the page)

However my case instead has these vents, but they are covered my metal with a very thin slit like this page: http://www.thinkcomputers.org/zalman-z9-plus-mid-tower-...

Should i have done something? What has happened?

The images on the first page show the slits too.

It's just how that case is designed; it's kinda strange.

You could use them if you wanted, or you could just remove that panel.

I cannot remove the panel it is part of the whole bottom case. The slits are VERY thin and when i first installed my psu (intake facing down) the power supply got VERY hot and made a serious amount of noise. I then installed it face up and was better but during gaming it gets noisy again due to my GPU pumping out hot air into the PSU iintake fan

Hmm, that's not good.

One thing to note is that the GPU pumps air out the sides - the fan is blowing up, towards the PCB.

If you have a dremel, or a hammer, would you be able to 'alter' the case a little to make up for poor engineering? :p
