Going from Windows 7 to 8.1 within the next few days (which will be installed on my ssd)
However what will happen to all the files on my secondary hard drive (used only to store games) when i get 8.1? will they become corrupt or go on working just fine?

Solution
They won't get corrupted or anything.

But for actually working? Depends on exactly what files you're talking about.
If Steam/Origin games, should be no problem. Install the Steam client with the new OS, and point it at the existing game locations.
Regular files like docs and music? No problem.
And applications will probably need to be reinstalled with the new OS.
