Hello,

Im getting bluescreens with this message:
THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (SamsungRapidDiskFltr.sys)

They occur every once in a while like for instance when im downloading multiple files at once.

Solution

Typically happens when performing a very drive intensive task... such as copying lots of data from one place to another.. or from one drive to another. Haven't found a pattern. Turned off RAPID and it hasn't happened since.

I started getting similar crashes (STOP 0x000..7E BSOD) only the last week or 2. Running with Magician update 4.4, and am thinking I should have stayed with 4.3

I was able to stop the bluescreens. I began to realize that the bluescreens starting occuring after i upgraded my bios. I overlooked that i updated to a Beta-version bios so i downgraded it. No bluescreens ever since.

I'm having the same issue using Samsung Magician 4.4, but I did recently upgrade my bios (AMI UEFI BIOS Z87X-UD3H F9). Not sure if that's the root cause of the issue, but I didn't have these issues prior to this upgrade. In the meantime I've disabled RapidMode on my SSD to see if that helps rectify the situation temporarily.

Hello. Good to see more people join in on the topic. Hopefully gathering enough voices will lead to samsung working on a solution.

I am also having the problem about 1 time a day now. it may be the ATI drivers as this is the last known driver that was updated last week. Will let you know.

You can add another user of a new Samsung EVO 1TB & Samsung Magician 4.4, with RAPID mode turned on. I haven't updated my BIOS at all since I first installed the disk a few weeks back. This is the second time I've had the system crash with this message. I only thought to read the bluescreen message closer & saw that it mentioned Samsung RAPID, so I googled & found this thread.

I guess all I can do atm is also turn off rapid mode. Kind of defeats the purpose though.

I have just updated to 4.5 and enabled rapid mode. Been copying a lot, no BSOD yet! Still testing.

Add me to this list too. I have a SSD 850 EVO 1TB drive running Magician 4.5 and have the latest firmware. I have now blue screened twice in the last week and I was not doing anything I would consider drive intensive at the time.

I have had the same BSOD issue and I contacted Samsung. They sent me a link for SM v4.6, which I downloaded and installed last night. Let's see how this goes.

It seemed I was getting the BSOD when playing videos in my browser.
