Hi there,

I recently built a new pc but after the build, when I turned it on, the fans started going for 1 second and then immediately turned off. It then turns on again, then after another second, turns off. Rinse and repeat.

I have all my connections in, so maybe it's a problem with hardware?

Specs:
CPU: i5-4690
CPU Cooler: Hyper 212 Evo
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-H87-D3H
RAM: Kingston Fury (2x4 GB) DDR3-1600 MHz
HDD: WD Black Series 1TB
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 770 (2GB Superclocked ACX)
PSU: Be Quiet! Dark Power Pro 10 550W
CASE: Phanteks Enthoo Pro

I have tried using only one memory stick, my 8pin connection is plugged in to the mobo, and now I'm not too sure what to do. I'd appreciate any help or advice you guys can give me to help solve my problem. Thanks in advance!

Honestly, if you're sure everything is plugged in, I would setup everything outside of the case with just 1 stick of ram and the gpu and see if it stays on. If it does, it's gotta be metal on metal somewhere. Another possibility is a faulty power supply. I wouldn't think it's the motherboard because in my experience, a board either stays on with no video or POST, or doesn't start at all.

You may have a short. I had the same issue when I had a screw touching the phases on my ASUS Maximus Impact. I found little shavings in my case. Might need to break it down and try again.

Hope this helps.

I will try this, thanks. Would you recommend anything else to keep in mind while doing this? I am new to the whole build-your-own pc thing, so any tips would help a ton.
