So I just completed a build for my grandfather (his old Dell was ancient) and I successfully installed Windows 8.1 64bit onto the hard drive. After updating Windows it restarted to perform updates, but never actually came up again. Attempts to boot it resulted in silence other than optical drive spinning up, HDD spinning up, CPU and case fans spinning. Breadboarding results in three beeps with no RAM installed (AMI BIOS). After installing RAM (attempting with two different sticks, one just purchased from Best Buy to check), there is silence other than the CPU fan. I have no idea what is happening.
