Hello,

I don't know if I targeted a category well, but I'm going to try to tell You about my problem. I've had another thread, thought it was all solved, but, seems, it was not. I will start from the very beginning. A month ago I've bought and installed a new GPU to my PC (MSI GTX 750 Ti) and ever since that I had 0,5-1s screen freezes randomly when playing games or watching videos. After a few answers, I've tested it on another pc. The case was even worse, so I've got my GPU RMA'd. After that my PSU went down, so it took me some time to re-test my new GPU. After reinstalling this GPU, I still have the freezes, which occur every 1-3minutes. By the way, from time to time a sound like something disconnects from pc comes up, but no pop-up shows, from time to time this sound is followed by the sound of connecting something back too (like connecting/disconnecting USB sounds). Later on I've checked my temperatures while playing NBA 2K14, CPU temperature sometimes went to 81 celcius, so I've readded thermal paste and max temperature lowered down to about 70 celcius. After that lag spikes were still there, then I've tested my FPS with Fraps and came up with the answer that the lag spikes (random screen freezes) are just sudden dramatical FPS drops. Any solutions?

P.S. I don't know if that helps, but my monitor connects through VGA connection. I may connect through DVI connection, because I have an adapter. I don't know if that would help, but just saying.

A few guesses:
- My GPU is somehow not compatible with my motherboard
- My GPU is not compatible with my monitor

My pc:
Motherboard - gigabite EP35-DS3
CPU - Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.4GHz
GPU before - 9600GT
GPU now - MSI GTX 750 Ti
4GB RAM
PSU before - ENERGOM EPS-650W
PSU now - Corsair CX500M
2 HDD
Windows 7, 64bit
Monitor - SyncMaster 2243BW

What I've tried?
- Reinstalling drivers cleanly
- Looking up for malware issues
- Clearing up the registry
- Updating .net framework and c++
- Resetting BIOS default options
- Checking up temperatures

Waiting for your help!

Thanks in advance!

Are you sure you didn't get the same card back? Also have you thought about updating your GPU BIOS?

Thanks for the fast reply! I'm 100% sure. And I haven't thought about updating my GPU BIOS, because I know nothing about it, don't know how it works and how it may helps. If You are sure I need it and it will help, I may try to do it. Just for You to know, gpu-z info:

It may help. I can't ever be sure but if it happened on another PC with the same card then something is definitely wrong with it. That sort of activity is usually because of heat related issues but I find it very odd that a GPU which doesn't generate much heat would have issues like that. I also find it odd that EVGA could have written a buggy BIOS. It won't hurt it to try though. You can go to techpowerups BIOS repositories where vendors post their latest BIOS updates for all their cards.

So, I've found 3 different BIOS choices, which one should I try?

I would try the one at the top of the list.

But the one at the top has 1085MHz clock speed while my GPU has only 1059MHz. And then I open the links, the two top ones are shown to have 2 coolers while my one has only one (my one is shown while I open the third one). So, maybe I should try to use the third one?

Oh sorry didn't realize that. I posted that reply on my phone and could barely read the picture. Yes you are right.

OK, could You explain me how do I do it safely? I've found one tutorial, but it was using nibitor, which does not support my GPU. And all of the tutorials shows how to flash the same version of bios, but I need to change it instead of upgrading it.

I'd assume you would use the nvidia flashing tool that you download here. As for how to use it I can't say as I haven't used this tool before. My basic guess just from looking at it though would be to:

-extract the program and all related files that come with it to its own folder

-put the BIOS file into the same folder as the nvflash.exe file

-start up nvflash.exe

-type in nvflash YourBIOSfilename.here

And thats it.
