'No Speakers or Headphones are plugged in' Driver Problem on Laptop

Recently I have been having some problems with my audio devices on my HP Pavilion dv6 laptop, which didn't allow me to pick my own default devices when in the 'playback devices' window. For example if I had my headset plugged in it always defaulted to that and physically wouldn't let me change it to 'Speakers and Headphones' it just did nothing when I tried.
To combat this I thought maybe I should try updating the drivers, this didn't work either so I deleted them and then reinstalled them going to HP website to find the correct drivers for my laptop. However it still doesn't work and shows this:

'No speakers or headphones plugged in'

But when I right click and press playback devices it shows them to be installed and 'apparently working':

And also once again it had the same problem not allowing me to choose my default device but also I now have no sound on my laptop...

I've tried a lot already such as trying to install different drivers and a system restore which it won't complete either.

If it anyone knows to help it will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance :)

Hi Haylox,

It's possible that you did not update 'all of the drivers'. My friend had the same problem on his HP G26.

Under Device Manager -> Other Devices I found that the 'Realtek Sound Bus' audio drivers where not installed.
Therefore, I suggest checking if you have any misconfigurational devices under 'Other Devices'.
