On-Board RAID Question

Hey all,

Thinking about doing a large number of drives in a RAID 0 off of my mobo and as it appears I may have to use the 3gb/s sata connectors on the board...I'm curious if that means I'd be limited to a total bandwidth of 3gb/s or is that per drive/sata connection to the board...

Thanks!

Board is:

GIGABYTE GA-X79-UP4 LGA 2011

The question is very general...If building a RAID0 on your mobo's internal connection is the speed limited to the boards connections combined or is it limited to 1 port...Let's say 4 x RAID0 on 3gb/s sata, is your total max throughout limited to the 3gb/s or is it a combination of the 2...so 2 x 3gb/s total?

4 drives in a RAID0 can certainly exceed 3 gb/s...plus that's not even the question...
