Basically as the title suggests, the fan on top of my heatsink for my CPU doesn't fit the entire heatsink itself. Is this an issue to overheating or doesn't it really matter too much?
The fan was replaced due to the bearings wearing out on the other one, this one doesn't fit too greatly because it came off a heatsink for AMD. It screws in completely fine and fits the port fine also.

Thanks for the help in advance. :)

Solution
Coverage of the cooling fins is not as important as having the right type of fan. For heatsinks you need a fan with high static pressure to force the air thru the fins.

Sorry? The heatsink is covering the entire CPU. The fan isn't covering the entire heatsink is what I mean. The fan itself is the same size as my other one but my other one has more plastic on the outside to cover the entire width and length of the heatsink.

I thought you meant cpu. The fan should cover most of the heatsink. Whether it is 92mm, 120mm or 140mm. But it won't be exact. My 120mm more than covers my Hyper 212 EVO. My 140mm fans don't quite cover my Thermalrights.
