Computer just randomly shut off. Its hd been working just fine without any issues for over 2 months.I have used the paper clip test to test my PSU and it turns on just fine. However when I remove all components with exception to the cpu and a stick of memory neither the psu will spin up nor will the motherboard turn on. This seems weird however as the PSU does not spin up even though it did with the paper clip test.

PSU Corsair 750w
AsRock z77 Extreme 4
i5 3750k

What CPU temps have you been getting at idle and under load? Are you using a stock CPU cooler?

PSU more times than not will NOT spin up during paper clip test. Newer PSU's won't turn the fan on until the heat is at a predetermined level. Also, just saying Corsair 750w is NOT enough information about your PSU. Corsair probably makes ten or twelve different models of 750W PSU in five or six different lines. Some lines will be good. Others suck and are known to be problematic. What is your specific model and where is it listed on the Tom's tier list is what you need to be asking yourself. Here's a link to the list and please post your EXACT model here so we can continue to help you.
