Thermal paste in CPU socket

I got a mobo off of ebay and it had a minute amount of thermal paste in it. Could i have some advice? pictures will be posted.

You can pick the paste that is almost in the holes with a pointy wooden toothpick and wipe the rest off. Hopefully the previous owner did not shove (too much) all the way in there.

Wipe it off with Isoproptyl alcohol and a good cloth that wont get fibers stuck in it (Do not use paper towel, tissues etc)
