Hello everyone!

My case model is a M51AC, I want to cool my case more, so I don't know the perfect areas to cool my system, this is why im asking for help.

Here is the imagem (If someone can post an image with circles so I can see where to put the new fans)

What are your system temps and specs that make you think you need a new fan?

Sorry I selected best answer because im in my phone browser,my fault btw my card which is a 4870x2 goes 50C without any gaming with the side case, if I do it without the side case it goes 10C, then I have 40C without the side case. My case has only 1 small fan on the back of the case.

Specs:

CPU - i5 4430s 2.7 ghz
RAM - 10GB
GPU - 4870x2
PSU - XFX 750w
Motherboars - H8M-Pro by Asus

Your readings are wrong. 10c is impossible unless you live in a freezer.

You do not need to cut anything, just use those holes to mount a fan there.

It goes 10C down, im not saying its 10c, with the side case it gets 50ºC without the side case it drops 10ºC and goes 40ºC.

How many fans I should add?

Do you know any good fans? (Should I use a 120mm or a 140mm?)

I would add a single 120mm fan. Doesn't matter what kind. You just need some air moving, that's all.

Honestly, I would just buy a new case for like $40. It will GREATLY help your situation and get you out of that terrible prebuilt case. Something like a Corsair 200r would be great and comes with fans.

But do you think the 120mm fan will do a big difference?

Honestly, I don't know. what you really need is air coming in the front of the case. This is why I recommend a better case.

Here my plan:

The front fan, im talking about the first 2 images, the air should come inside the computer like in this way (<<<<<<<) or to go out of the case (>>>>>>>>)

What do you think about my plan? Should do better right?

The front fan should be an intake and the rear fan should be an exhaust.

What's the difference in a intake and an exhaust?

An intake fan blow air into the case and an exhaust fan blows are out of the case.

Front= intake

Rear = exhaust

The side fan will be an exhaust right?

Btw, now its more likely the corsair case, i'll add fans like the corsair case have, do you think it will help?

No the side fan should be an intake.

Just make sure the front and side are intake and the rear is exhaust.

So the Side and the Front fans blows air into the system, and the rear blows the air out of the system right?

Should I buy another case or try to put the fans? What do you think? (The fans will be like 15€, the case in my country is almost 60€ the corsair one)

I guess try the fans. They should help. Make sure you get the right size fan for the front of the case.

There have to be cheaper fans than that.

There are cheaper fans, but you sure the brand doesn't matter?

Brand matters a bit but there are good quality cheap fans. Coolermaster for example.

Coolermaster SickleFlow 120mm - 6,49€
Revoltec Air Guard 92mm - 6,00€

The rear fan I have is an Noiseblocker NB-BlackSilent 92mm XE1 Rev 3.0 - 5,50€

Btw, I will not have connector's to the new fans for sure. The motherboard can connect only one fan If im not wrong

The rear fan is fine. make sure the fans you get can connect to molex on the PSU.

Many fans come with a 3-pin motherboard connector AND a molex connector for the PSU.

Those Coolermaster and revoltec are good too?

The coolermaster comes with a 3-4pin adapter, which is good. You NEED that to use it with the PSU molex connector, instead of the motherboard.

Make sure the other one has an adapter as well.

The 140mm will blow more air into? The 120mm will do the job?
m

l
August 11, 2014 11:00:34 AM

I don;t know if a 140 will fit on the side. Just get a 120. It will blow air fine. More air is not what you want. Just air in general. Any movement of air is all you need.

Make sure you get the correct size for the front of the case. Probably an 80 or 92.

The correct size for the front is an 92mm

Good. Looks like you are good to go then.

Btw, what will be the perfect RPM for the fans? How can I check it or change it etc.
m

l
August 11, 2014 9:06:43 PM

Doesn't matter really. Just need to get air moving. Don't worry too much about speed. You cannot change the FAN speed when it is connected to the PSU. It will just run at max.

The side fan and the front will always improve the temperatures right?
m
0
l
August 12, 2014 8:06:55 AM

Yes they should. The will be bringing in cool air from outside the case. It should definitely help.
m

August 12, 2014 8:47:26 AM

There will not be any problem because of the CPU Fan? the cpu fan will blow the air in one direction and the side case to another
m

l
August 12, 2014 9:27:41 AM

The CPU fan blows are directly at the CPU and motherboard. It blows the same direction the side fan will.

Point is, it will work fine and should improve your temps. NOTHING bad can happen.

Hey Sir. Tiny Voices, Im really going to buy a case, I'm thinkin on buying a 30€ one which is a Sharkoon Vaya.

The max budget I give for a case is 30€ and 40€ on a extreme case, if it's really worth it.

Can you recommend me one? Or that Sharkoon is ready to go?
m

That Sharkoon is not a good case. It has a top mounted PS U which is an OLD design.

What websites can you buy from?

THAT Sharkoon case is decent. Better than what you have for sure.

Then I would save to upgrade the GPU next.

Did you see that website? Do you recommend another?

For the money, no not really. Anything with a bottom mounted PSU, and front fan will be fine.

Anything like for 40€?

True, do you think the sharkoon one is enough?

August 20, 2014 5:49:23 PM

It should be fine. Your GPU is known to have heat problems and even 5 years ago when it was new it had issues. I would recommend getting the Sharkoon case and then saving for a new GPU as even a low-mid end modern card will be alot better.

Make sure you have a front intake and rear exhaust fan.

Im going to buy that Sharkoon case and the R9 280 GPU, Not the X version

Do you have any guide how to transfer the components to another case?
m
0
l
August 20, 2014 6:12:57 PM

No, just undo everything and install it in a new case. Just like a new build.

Here is a good video for how to build a computer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_56kyib-Ls

DO NOT remove your CPU or cooler from the motherboard. The RAM can probably stay in too.

There's any problem if the PSU stay's in the top? They put it in the bottom to have a better cooling?
m
0
l
August 20, 2014 6:37:16 PM

The bottom PSUs give better cooling and MUCH MUCH better cable management.

I STRONGLY recommend a case with the PSU on the bottom. It is standard now-a-days.
