Pretty self explanatory. I have 4gb of ddr3 1600 in my Mac right now but I want to upgrade to 8 (I have the original 4gb that came with the model). Can I just buy a stick of Mac memory from corsair and stick it in or am I not allowed to mix brands? Thanks

If it is "Mac" Memory, it should work. The problem is that there may not be an available slot in your computer, to check click on the Apple symbol, go to about this Mac, and select memory, if there are two slots that are taken up by 2x2 then you would have to get 2x4 to replace them. Macs aren't very modifiable so changing the RAM could be quite the hassle...
