I have several newer Android phones (modern..KitKat / JB high specs) and all of them needed the DNS settings manually set....

What settings on a router would not send the correct DNS settings automatically? Is there any setting we can change on the router to auto-cast the correct DNS?

Solution
I never got this prob on my S3 with Latest kitkat. So android phone/OS isn't a prob I think. Try looking at your router settings. Open CMD and type "ipconfig", note your default gateway and open it in browser. If it is 192.168.1.1, open it in browser. If it asks for user name and pass, default is "admin" for both. Search for such DNS settings in your router's settings, it might be under WAN or at other part. If you can't find it, I don't know how to set it to auto.
