Hello I tried to repair my corrupt eternal NTFS hard drive but I canceled it after it said 1024 and stopped doing anything. Now I can't seem to access it and if I do a chkdsk g: /r it turns up with the message "Access Denied as you do not have sufficient privileges. You have to invoke this utility running in an elevated mode."

Can anyone help me please? Thank you.

Assuming the drive really is defective (try on a difference PC), then your best bet is likely to crack open the case and see if the HDD unit itself is functional by plugging into your PC.

The interface to the USB interface may just be defective.
