Not sure I understand so I will go through it all, on the r9 you will see these power connectors http://cdn.eteknix.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/Sapphire-VaporX-R9-280X-4.jpg. On one of your power supply rails you MAY have 1 or 2 of these http://www.kenable.co.uk/images/K-8PIN-pci-exp-MM-40CM_MAIN.jpg. They plug into the card. If your power supply does not have those connectors you will need to purchase 2 of these molex to PCI-e power adapters http://www.mnm-computers.nl/images/Kabels/Intern/Intern_Power_2x4pinsMolex_8pinsPCIe.jpg. Your card should have come with them but if not you will have to buy them separate.

Just be sure your power supply is big enough, you need a 550w minimum to use the card and if you have to use the adapters then you will need to split them over 2 12v rails.

I hope that makes sense.

Ok in the vid skip to 4:00 mins and watch to 4:30. It shows how to connect the adapter to 1 of the 12v rails. Repeat the step on the second 12v rail then plug into your graphics card. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BaTpiFh8Ivg. As a note when you split the power over 2 rails on both adapters you only need to use 1 of the molex socket on each adapter the other can be taped up so you only need 1 free molex plug on each rail.

i still find it hard understnding , i will fix it but i hope short circuit wont happen bcoz of my wrong connection. also help me with this problem

please tell me if my sound card will burn to heat and there will be performance drop in hardware of sound card coz of the design of motherboard.
i have asus m5r97 r2.0 , graphics card r9 280 asus dcu ii top, asus xonar dx

my sound card(pcle1_2) is just right below the graphics card (pclex16_1) . when graphics card radiates heat from its two fan the heat directly flows on to back of my sound card which is situated less than 50 mm gap between these two cards.

Please tell me if this will create problem on my sound card due to the design of m5r97 r2.0 board?
