Hi.

I'm looking to buy either a Macbook Pro or Air.

I found two which have the following specs:

Air

13.3 screen
i5 2.6ghz processor
8GB RAM
128GB SSD
Release date August 2014

Pro
13.3 screen
i5 2.4ghz processor
8GB RAM
256GB SSD
Release date October 2013

These are not from the Apple site so hoping the specs listed are correct and the site hasn't made a mistake.

I'll mostly be using it for surfing the web, some Microsoft Office and some (basic) video editing.

The price difference is the Pro costs about £120 more than the Air.

Which one is best? Is the Pro worth the extra £120?

Thanks.

Solution
The Pro is mainly designed for video and photo editing. So if you can fork out £120 then go for it. But if not, then the Air would be good enough. And the air is faster too but has less storage (SSD).

Hope this helps you pick. :)

Thanks :) I do have a desktop if I went for the Air and it wasn't good enough for video editing, although my current laptop still manages alright and the Air has better specs so it might be good enough for what I want.

Less storage is fine, I'll get an external harddrive for files whichever I go for.

One thought I had was that I'd buy an external disk drive so I don't want to fork out an extra £120 then extra for that as well if I don't have to.

Would there be much difference in speed between the two?

Just to summarise. The Air would perform faster. ;)

Thanks :) I'll probably go with the Air then.

No worries. Don't mind picking a solution. :)
