just upgraded from the 6300 to the 8320.
after 1hr of prime95 this is what i got
4.4mhz stable @ 1.34vcore
63c load and 32c idle
cooler: hyper 212 evo
my question is should i upgrade to a h100i if i wanna go further with ocing?
will upgrading my cooler give me more headroom and keep the chip cool?
would 63c be normal at 100% load with my cooler?

Solution
with what are you watching temps? download AMD Overdrive do not use Prime95 for test of AMD Proccesor's

here you have temp margin and stress test to test you CPU for stability

63c is little high for that OC couse i had 61c on 4.6 on the same cooler

Now im also on 4.4 and max temp on stress test is 56.8c

But still nothing to worry about couse those are stress test you will not get that temps while gaming for sure just monitor the temps and be carefull

Test with AMD Overdrive and watch temps with HardwareMonitor
Yes,you can go with the H100i.It will keep your 8320 cool.
You don't need it if you dont wanna overclock anymore, the Hyper 212 EVO will do just fine on 4.4 MHz.
63C would be normal, but anything higher than that would be a problem.

still getting the same temps as before. i might try reseating the cooler on the cpu again, and also my thermal paste might be bad, you know how you can spin the cooler slightly? when i spin it a little bit it sounds like it's tooth paste constancy with all the little particles in it. im going to order some arctic silver 5 and reseat the cooler and see if my temps go down.

im not sure what you mean with spining cooler? you must not use to much paste i overdid it but get good temps later will fix that now i just dont have the time just a little maybe try X patern its spreads on all of cpu tin yes Arctic brand have good thermal paste products i recommend them to all they really do make difference
