Need help on what processor to use for gaming.

Hello so i have had my friend build me a pc on a website with a budget of $850 budget (506 great british pounds) and here is the link to it http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2zvjRB the only thing i dont like in it is the cpu he told me that if i plan on playing Battlefield 4 on ultra it will work as that game doesnt need a high cpu but graphics card. Could you people recommend me a good cpu for gaming it can be a little bit more expensive but not like a i7 maybe i could get like a list of not too expensive gaming
cpu's.
Thank you.

  1. First of all dual core is not recommend for Battlefield.

500 pounds for CPU or whole system.
  2. Heres a better build I made:

    Also,you cant OC the 4690,but you can OC a 4690K. :)

BF4 is VERY CPU intensive game, and obviously GPU intensive. It has been optimized for multi core CPU so a Quad is must if you wish to play at any decent settings. Pentium won't be a good processor anyways to play it. Atleast a 4th gen 3.2GHz i3 or a i5 will be required to play on decent medium to high settings.
    Here's what I suggest:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

    CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($219.00 @ Amazon)

Motherboard: MSI Z97 PC MATE ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($89.98 @ OutletPC)

    Reasons:

Uberly better CPU, will run almost ANY latest game on high to ultra. CM Hyper EVO included in build.

R9 280X is better overall GPU with better bandwidth and architecture. Also the one I included is 3GB.

Tier 2 Class A PSU, one of the best in its range.

NXZT Case, Z97 MoBo, 120GB SSD

This build will give solid 50-60 FPS on Ultra in FHD in BF4.

It'll pawn that build in almost all fields. I hope it helps.

I thought that too but when you convert the partpicker list to UK it comes out at over £700, not the £506 mentioned.
