Lag with Dxtory but not with Fraps?

Okay so a while ago I had a really bad pc that had a core 2 duo and a 256mb graphics card... and on minecraft I could record lowest settings @30fps with Dxtory and when I tried to use fraps it used to lag like hell... Well now it's the other way round. I have an FX6100 clocked at 4.1ghz and an amd radeon 6850. When I play minecraft I get 120fps+ and recording with fraps is fine. But the filesizes are way to huge for my liking so I downloaded Dxtory and tested it out. I drop from over 150fps to 17... Anyone know what the problem is? Write speed for my hdd on dxtory is 105mb/s
