Hello. I am looking for the best CPU on the market right now, price doesn't matter at all, so suggest anything. Also looking for the best GPU as well, if anyone might know that.

More about : cpu

Will you be overclocking? The. Go with i7-4790K, base clock of 4GHz and is powerful and people have overclocked this to more than 5GHz.

Or buy a used 6-core, I won a 3960X recently for only 245 UKP. Bought several 3930Ks in the same way. For raw IPC
though, the 4790K is best, especially if one does not get a top-end mbd, RAM, etc., to match.

I doubt you're gonna buy these stuff anyway

Fastest CPU : i7-4960x

Fastest GPU : R9 295X2

Fastest Phone :p  : Oppo Find 7a

Like I said, money isn't a problem. My buddy just bought a $1200 CPU or something, said it was the strongest/newest on the market atm. Also need the best GPU on the market.

$9000 CPU ? I never knew there was such a thing. $9000 for a small piece of fancy sand that fits in your hand...

Fastest overclockable consumer CPU is the 4690X, while in the XEON world there are a whole range of options, eg.
the E5-2697 V2. Note that the E7-8890 V2 is only expensive because it's intended for systems that support up to
8 sockets on a single board. Hence, the 2697 is more sensible as it's designed for 2-socket boards.

Also, compared to an oc'd 6-core consumer chip like the 4690X, you'd need at least a 10-core XEON to achieve the
same multithreaded performance, so unless your task is indeed heavily threaded, you're better off with the 4690X.
Btw, you've not yet stated the nature of the intended tasks. Hard to give firm recommendations without knowing
the system's purpose.

Only a 1kW PSU? Yawn, I always buy 1475W when I can. ;D

Ezenemy, is the system you're building just for gaming? Or for something else aswell? Beyond a certain point,
the gains in gaming are absolutely nothing, and indeed XEONs would be slower as their clocks are lower and
can't be changed (except for minor blck tweaks on some boards, though I wouldn't try it).

If you're building a gaming machine, then the 4690X can't be beat, doubly so given it's much higher no. of
PCIe lanes; find a board with PLEX switches so you can run multiple GPUs all at x16, eg. the ASUS P9X79-E WS,
or the Asrock X79 Extreme11. Personally I'd get the ASUS. Note the Rampage IV Extreme B.E. cannot do this,
it's limited to x16/x8/x8/x8 with four GPUs.

As for GPU choice, if you're going multiscreen & high-res, etc., then multiple Titans can't be beat.

For those who say AMD, sorry but the drivers just aren't good enough atm. AMD needs to do a lot more
for their GPUs to be sensible in 'high-end' gaming systems where I suspect stability is going to be an
important requirement. AMD has the performance and price edge in many cases, but their drivers are
sorely lacking wrt stability. Testing multiple 7970s recently, I kept encountering glitches, issues and
instability of a kind that just doesn't happen with NVIDIA cards (which is a pity since the 7970 is a nice
card speed-wise).

Oddly enough, choosing AMD for its new high-end gfx is partyl what killed SGI's high-end gfx business
a decade ago, ie. the drivers from AMD were awful.

when I said that, I meant to ask how you guys can afford such expensive stuff. You don't have to answer though ...

I own an online business.

I will probably buy the 4690x then if that's what you suggest. This will pretty much be for gaming and such. I am not too advanced when it comes to building a PC and all of the functionalists. I can put one together with some ease, but really don't know anything advanced. So if I buy this 4690x will I have to change anything specific besides my motherboard for the socket? (Also, what's a good motherboard that would do well with this CPU). Also you suggest double titans? What kind of cooling system should I get? And 1000W will be enough, right? I just went to NCIX and bought the most expensive psu I could find. I have a Antec DF-85 case right now but I just bought a CM Storm Trooper because I was bored, pretty sure they're very similar, but I am getting sick at looking at my case.

Any other suggestions, then?

my advice, get an i7, sli 2 gpu, ssd, good psu and board, mech keyboard, a good mouse. 3 monitor setup, and build a room for that rig with good sound setup. no need for ultra expensive stuff like a $1000 cpu

maybe get another 680? setup a triple monitor maybe. get some 512gb ssd's
7.1 speakers with a good setup (cant help you with these), a steering wheel (if you play racing games) on one side with a good chair. in short, a game room :)

My 680 will be able to work with three monitors, right?
