This is my first PC build and I'm looking for a gaming desktop that can play from WoW to BF4 and I've decided on these parts:
CPU:Intel Core i5-4570 $199.99

CPU Cooler:Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO $34.99

Motherboard:Asus H97-PLUS ATX LGA1150 Motherboard $109.99

Memory:Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory $86.99

Storage:Western Digital BLACK SERIES 3TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive $184.99

Video Card:Gigabyte Radeon R9 280X 3GB WINDFORCE $299.99

Case:Cooler Master HAF 922 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case $99.99

Power Supply:Corsair CSM 650W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply $94.99

Optical Drive:Asus BC-12B1ST/BLK/B/AS Blu-Ray Reader, DVD/CD Writer $57.99

Operating System:Microsoft Windows 8.1 Pro (OEM) (64-bit) $139.99

And an aftermarket case fan for the side panel: Cooler Master Megaflow 110.0 CFM 200mm Fan $19.99

These are just average prices and I'll search for the better ones once I've completely settled on the parts. Any thoughts and changes you guys can come up with to help make my build better or if there's compatibility issues I'm not aware about just comment them, I appreciate any feedback! :)

Solution
Drop the CPU cooler since you're using a locked CPU which can't be overclocked. The cpu comes with a stock fan which will suffice.

You can get a better quality PSU for the price. Corsair's CSM/CS/CX/RM is the company's "bad" PSUs since they aren't manufactured by Seasonic and use cheap parts on the inside. Look for the EVGA Super NOVA G2. 850W is enough for future crossfire.

You can get a LG Blue ray reader/writer for $20 cheaper. Also you should consider a SSD+HDD instead of a 3TB HDD if you don't need that much space.

Thanks for the informative answer! I only put the optical drive down cause I didn't care about which model and just picked a random blu ray model as I'm just going to get it at a later time and just wanted to remember to get one when I started buying parts (lol), but as for the other things I'll follow your advise and just get a 1tb and maybe a ssd if I need it and drop the CPU cooler and psu
