I installed Windows 8.1 on my netbook- a Lenovo S10-3 (worst decision ever!). It worked just fine for a couple weeks, until it randomly gave me a blue screen- only it was cut, showing multiple : ( and cut text. After it rebooted, the wireless option was grayed out in the settings and I couldn't manage to re-enable it. I disabled and enabled the network adapter, disabled and enabled networking in the bios, formatted and reinstalled Windows- heck, I even opened it up and reset the CMOS battery. I even switched OSes. Nothing worked, I can't get wireless to enable. Does anyone have any idea how to solve this problem?

I don't know if that will help- I mean, the device is recognized, it is identified in the Device Manager and the Network and Sharing Center. Currently it's running Chrome OS (because that is the lightest OS I could find). I'll reinstall Win 8.1 and try it out.

Please, can anyone help? I reset to default BIOS settings, Live booted Xubunut and linux mint and nothing is helping! Xubuntu even says that wifi is "disabled by hardware switch", which it obviously isn't since I have had this issue already and after fixing it, I super-glued the switch to stay in the "Enable" position.
