can anybody tell me what the effects might be of putting a 64 bit os onto a 32 bit computer that is 64 bit compatible i looked at my computer properties and it says it is 32 bit i looked online and the processor is 64 bit compatible i now have a 64 bit os on my 32 bit computer and would like to know what effects this may have on a computer atm my computer takes about 10 mins to load 9 mins longer than usual and also when everything is up and running the windows log on tune plays after everything has already loaded after that point my computer seems to run fine unless i leave it to idle for 5 to 10 mins if i do that all the lights that show the hard drive and the wifi are on and working will switch off and not work again until i switch off the computer and restart i will be very thankful to anyone that has some advice or can even help me get my comp back to a good operating state

when you installed the new os onto your system you need to install the motherboard chipset drivers and all the drivers for your hardware.

or intel or amd driver update page to make sure you have the newest drivers loaded. the link is for software that read your system info. if you cant find all the info yu have to open the case and look.
What OS did you have before, what one are you using now? There is more then one 64bit os so we have no idea if you are using xp, vista, 7, 8, or even a version of linux.

When you installed the 64bit did you do a clean install and delete your 32bit one or did you to load the 64bit on top of the 32bit?
