Will my power supply and my graphics card support eachother and run together?

I just bought a new power supply and a new graphics card, the graphics card being the amd radeon r9 290x and the power supply being the evga supernova 850w power supply 80 plus gold certified. Can these two support eachother and run together? I only have 8gb of ram. Please help, I just want to run all games on maximum graphics.

Yes, the EVGA Supernova 850W will definitely support the Radeon R9 290X. The R9 290X is a great card, 8 GB of RAM is fine, so as long as you have a good CPU you'll be able to run everything on Ultra.

How do I know if I have a good enough cpu, I am just scared I may have bought without enough research, I am glad they will run fine together though thanks, thats a relief. How do I know what cpu I have? Sorry I am new to this.

Oh, its fine. If you're running Windows 7, go to the folder "Computer," and right click in it, which will bring up a menu. Then select "properties" from the menu. This will bring up another window which lists your processor specs.

AMD A10-5700 APU, which I have no idea what that means. You think it will be good enough to run the power supply and graphics card I bought? And btw I have windows 8 if that means anything. 64 bit operating system and processor.

Hmm. If you have an R90X, it'd be worth it to look into getting a better CPU. However, the AMD A10 APU series has a very specific chipset, so you won't just be able to replace it. You'll have the replace the motherboard as well. If you wish to do this, I can help you pick out a good processor. If you don't, you will still be able to play games fairly well, however when playing games that are CPU intensive you will probably be help back by your processor. But with a great GPU like a 290X I think it'd definitely be worth the extra money.

Intel Core i7-4790K Processor. I want to get this one, could I? And lets say I dont get a new processor, could I still use my power supply and graphics card I bought? Either way I would like to hear your sugestions on what to do.

You could definitely get the i7-4790K, however like I said you'll need to get a new motherboard with that. If you don't, you'll still be able to use the power supply and graphics card, but you will be held back by your processor when playing newer games.

so what motherboard should I get do you think? As you can see the price isnt really an issue, I just want the best I can get. What motherboard would run with the Intel Core i7-4790K Processor ?

Its overclock capable if you want to do that in the future. You also have the option to add a second GPU.

The only thing you need to make sure of now is that the motherboard will fit in your case. What size case do you have?

No idea what size case I have, how do i figure that out? is that the best motherboard I can get for the items I am buying? And I would like to maybe overclock in the future, I just don't know how to. So you think I should get that combo?

If you're adding these parts to a premade computer, than if you find out the computer model I can find the case size. If your adding it to a separate case, then it should say the model or size somewhere on the case. As for the motherboard, its all that you need. There are better motherboards, but there isn't any reason for you to get more than this. As for overclocking, there are great guides on the internet if you google it.
