Hey guys,

I am trying to figure out the best solution to this situation:
My church has a projector up at the front connected via VGA, and the line runs to the back where we connect it to a laptop. Someone is putting up some money to get a big TV mounted on the back balcony so the people up front can see what is being displayed on the projector.

I need to be able to mirror the TV and the projector but have the powerpoint presenter interface up on the laptop. (Screen mirroring between the HDMI and VGA) then the laptop's screen be separate.

I saw this on newegg and thought it would be a steal to be able to have this guy handle the setup. Acer Aspire V3-572G-54S6

If this laptop's videocard can't handle it, should I just build a system with an AMD card which is said to handle multiple monitors better? If so, then which card?

Mucho thanks in advance... I really could not figure out the best search term for this situation.

If you need the projector and TV to be identical, you could just go the route of splitting the signal. To the computer it will be the same setup you have already.

Run a HDMI cord from the laptop into this box.

Where the signal is split in two. One cable runs to the TV, and using this adapter a VGA runs to the existing projector (although if that has HDMI capability I suggest you use it)

Seems a lot simpler and cheaper than building a whole new machine just to add on another screen (unless that was your intention anyway ;))

Thank you! This is a great possible solution. The laptop is old and we would like to replace it. Thank you for this!
