First i'd just like to say i understand that mechanical HDDs make clicking noises, the one i have is a WD cavier blue, which is known to not be the quietest hard drive. I've read up on forums that describe people saying that "loud" is being able to hear it 1 meter away, I can hear my hard drive clicking away if im across the house in a another room with the door shut. Anywhere in my house i can hear this thing going crazy, idling not doing anything or any programs open. Below are my specs.

i5-4670k
H100i
asrock z87e-itx
corsair vengence LP 2 x 4gb
GTX 550ti
corsair ax 760
corsair 250d
Western Digital Cavier Blue 1TB

Yup, clicking is the sign of impending failure. It is possible that it would run for quite a while like that but you DON'T WANT TO TAKE A CHANCE ON USING IT. It could die completely any moment.
