Hi, I'm building a new PC and can't decide on a motherboard, mostly because I don't know how to compare them, other than see what they support. Usually, I'd just pick the cheapest one that is compatible with everyting else I'm buying, but I'd like to hear other ideas. So, this is the part list of the pc I'm building (It's intended mainly as a gaming PC):
I've already bought the RAM and SSD. The PSU is completely subject to change because I really didn't pay much attention to it, I just picked one with enough wattage and amperage. I've looked into a few motherboards, here's what I came up with (with a budget of up to $120):
What are the differences between this motherboards in terms of how they affect RAM and disk speed, latency and overclocking? Do you favor any of these brands over the other or are they all top quality?
What do you look for in general when you buy motherboards? What are interesting features to have? What makes a good MB or a bad one, apart from build quality? Can a poorly chosen MB severly hinder the performance of the system?
Thanks!
Intel Core i5-4570 3.2GHz
