hi,
so i have recently purchased a custom built tower from digital storm and the tower keeps on freezing on me. I thought it was a surge protector, but i have recently gotten a BELKIN SURGE PROTECTOR that can protect up to 3940 joules.

It was not the surge protector.
I have updated the AMD.

Was wondering what is causing the tower that was just recieved 3 days ago to freeze on idle or randomly shuts down?

Yusuke

Solution
could be anything. It has a warranty, so i would say contact the manufacturer first. But you can download HW monitor and check temperatures, something could be overheating, maybe a fan or heatsink got dislodged in shipment. If you open the case you could void the warranty though.

Not saying this is your problem...probably more coincidence then anything. But the last about 15 threads that I have clicked on with problems with instability like this have all had cx series psus in their build.
