I just managed to system restore an Asus laptop after it nearly crashed. Everything is working except when I type. When I type in the start menu search bar or say in the file explorer it types these block characters. Whatever I am typing is still searched like say if i was searching for a file. It finds the file name that I typed but I cant read what I am typing. Its just the blocks. I opened Chrome to see if it did the same thing and it works just fine. Normal letters and characters. I have already checked the driver and it shows its working. I tried to find a driver through Asus and couldnt find one. Just kinda lost at this point. The laptop is runnning Windows 7 Home Premium. Any tips or advice would be helpful. Thanks
Keyboard typing block characters instead of letters?

Usually the square blocks take the place of foreign language characters if you do not have the language pack installed. Make sure you have all your windows updates done and look through the optional installs, it will contain all the language packs. Make sure english isn't in there.
