Go with a Nvidia 760 and add a 120GB SSD and any size HDD combo that fits in your budget and you should be set. Also if you can afford the Noctua NH-D15/D14 that would also be good, but not needed. Maybe if legend001523 would expand why he doesn't think it's good then you can go from there, but I think it's pretty great for a gaming only desktop in a $1200 budget.

Wouldn't that end up being over $1200? I am in Aus and everything is OverPriced here...

That board doesnt support overclocking, so switch to a 4690. PSU wise go for a XFX 550w. Do you really need such an expensive case? If not aim for a GTX 760 atleast.

It's not a bad mid-range gaming rig.
Some things you can change, IMO:

If you're not overclocking, there's no reason the stock CPU cooler wouldn't do.
No regrets. Go with the i7, or you may en up looking back, and wondering "what if?"
You can save quite a bit of money getting a cheaper case, unless this is really important to you.
And if you can budget somewhere, to get your GPU into the GTX 700s range, that will last longer, and with better SLI support, GPUs have a bit more longevity to them.

Don't get me wrong, this is a good mid-range build, with room to expand on down the road if needed.

Not sure how much it is in AU, but it's a better start.

If you plan to just game then there is no need to get an i7, save yourself some money and put it towards a better GPU. A GTX 780 will give you better performance (assuming you will be playing on one monitor), if it fits in your budget then go for it. Also I didn't include it, but an extra HDD will be nice because that 256GB will dry up quick if you install a bunch of games.

No providers for Extreme3 Motherboard in Aus. Might have to go Extreme4 or something else. If you want to find out what is available in Australia, go to pcpartpicker au.

Run the cpu stock until you get some cash together at a later time then get a proper one.
Like a h100 or higher end noctua or something.

This is a good build, I personally would get an after-market CPU cooler if you plan to overclock, if not then disregard.

Wow! That is great! But I would prefer a EVGA or Nvidia Card... Also wouldn't the Seagate Barracuda be more trustworthy? I have heard some bad stuff about Western Digital HDD. Everything else is perfect though! But I am probably going to spend more on a better looking case. (That stuff is important to me :D)

Yeah i had to sacrifice that for a better gpu, he can always buy a cpu cooler but he can't buy a gpu whenever he wants

Why 750w PSU? 650w would be enough for that build, or even 600w.

I can recommend you some good looking cases that may be a tad bit expensive doe. Yes, the WD Black is not that good, but the WD blue is better and for your budget, if you go for a nvidia card, you'd be getting same performance but pay more in your situation

Fair enough, I would go with this one. Although I like Nvidia over AMD, but that's me. Not sure how much my build is in AU, probably more than $1200.

The list is frankly kinda sad, that unit has a great price and will last him for many builds. But yes if you can find a proper 650w that would be ideal.

wtf it changed to win 8 on its own...
Damn sneaky microsoft!~
