Hello friends,

I have been researching into building a gaming PC for the first time with a $1500 budget, the goal is to be able to play most games on their ultra/highest setting while maintaining high fps. Here is the permalink to what I came up with.

I'd appreciate any input and recommendations on how I can improve this rig since I am still very new at this. I am looking for something that I can upgrade in the future without swapping out to many things.

If this is a gaming only build and not doing video encoding, 3d modeling etc then the 16gb ram will be of no use to you and the i7 wont provide you with any noticeable difference.

EDITED:
I would drop to 8gb of ram and an i5 4690k.
I would also get the newer Z97 chipset motherboard.

I would then use the saved funds to get a GTX-770 or R9-280X gpu and an SSD drive. You can drop the magnetic disk to a blue serries then and save you $20 for the SSD

The CX serris power supplies are known to use inferior capacitors that blow with a decent load put on them. Granted your GTX-760 should not pull enough watts to stress the psu, but a bigger graphcis could. Look for Seasonic or XFX psu or a EVGA SuperNova. Even with a GTX 770 a 650w psu would be plenty.
