Hello,
I have just re-applied Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste to my CPU and reset the CPU Cooler. I was just wondering if I need the let them sit for a little while before using my computer. Thanks!

Solution
Nope - have a ball. It does have a burn-in period of 200 hours, so it will take that long to reach max efficiency, so I'd hold off on doing any stress testing for a while, but for normal use you're fine.
I will say that volcano is probably spot on. Artic Silver has a curing period which basically means that the little pea or grain size portion you put at the center of you CPU will take time to spread along the entire portion of the CPU. Your temps may vary for the first little bit but you should have a general idea of where it sits soon enough. You don't need to do a burn test or anything having your computer turned on and you playing games or doing productivity work will be enough to give that thermal paste to spread.
