Don't see much that can be cut, do you really need Blu-Ray, could prob save a little on the monitor, but basically anything saved I'd suggest spending on changes like 2x4GB for dual channel performance, a better mobo (I won't touch MSI due to their poor QC)

I guess I could get rid of the blue ray, I had the one 8gb stick so later down the road I could go to 16gb if needed. So getting 2×4gb sticks would be better right now ? And what mobo would you recommend for my setup ?

This board is much better for your setup , it has a 8+2 power phase design. The G46 has a poor thermal design and yes buy your ram in matching pairs.

Yes buy the 2x4 gb of RAM, and as someone else mentioned - cut the blu-ray player unless you absolutely have to have it. Leave the blue-rays on the TV where they belong if you have a setup already...

The GB mentioned by SR-71 would be a good choice ;)
