The Z97-A is a pretty nice board.

If you're going to be overclocking, I suggest maybe looking at the ASRock z97 extreme4 instead of the fatal1ty board... It has more phases which would help with overclocking.

So do you think l should go with ASRock z97 extreme4 or Asus z97-A since one is 12 phase and the other is 8 phase not that l understand alot about phases

The maximus hero is a better board for overclocking, but price is a steeper. The ASRock extreme4 is still a nice board with plenty of features.

Either one would do just fine. They both have really nice features, but I think the Extreme4 would do slightly better because of the extra phases. Someone else can throw in their input.

Just FYI, the 4690k bundled with the Asrock z97 extreme4 is $300 at Microcenter right now if you have access to one.
